Matt Schiesser
Lead Pastor
Matt became the lead pastor at CBC in March 2020, and is married to Julie Schiesser. Matt and Julie have 4 young children.
Matt preaches with clarity, conviction, and compassion. His sermons are grounded in Scripture, rich in theology, and aimed at real transformation. Week after week, you can expect expositional preaching that opens the Bible, exalts Christ, and applies truth to every part of life.
Matt’s preaching style blends prophetic urgency with pastoral care. He speaks plainly, yet powerfully—calling sin what it is, lifting up grace as greater, and urging the church to live boldly for God’s glory. He doesn’t avoid hard truths, but he always brings them back to the hope we have in Jesus. Whether unpacking deep doctrine or addressing everyday struggles, Matt teaches with gospel-centered clarity and a shepherd’s heart.
His aim is not just to inform the mind, but to awaken the heart—to stir awe in God, joy in Christ, and a readiness to follow Jesus in all of life.
