Matt became the pastor at CBC in March 2020. During this time, Pastor Matt and his wife, Julie, moved back to their native state of Ohio after serving a year and a half in Houston, Texas, where Matt was an Associate/Youth Pastor. Prior to Houston, they both served at a new church plant, Faith Baptist Church in Circleville, OH. Matt and Julie both have over five years experience serving in teen ministry. They have a desire to serve God in the local church by equipping the saints through the preaching of the Word, and encouraging believers to share the Gospel near and far.
While growing up in Southern Ohio, a church van came to pick up Matt’s older brother who wasn’t home at the time, so instead they invited Matt to go with them. Matt gave his life to Christ that night at the age of 16.
Matt and Julie met in 2009, and married in July 2013. The Schiesser’s have three children, Marley, Abram, and Myra. Since moving to Union County, they have fallen in love with Marysville. During the week, you might find Matt or Julie at Coffee Hall and Creamery, or at the Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings in the summer.
